A Productive Day!

Wow! I had a very productive day today. I don't know what happened, the planets just aligned right I guess, I actually got to scrap BEFORE Austin was in bed, like in the afternoon! It's a rare day! I had a list of things I wanted to get done and I did them all today...well, ok, I have a list as long as my arm really, but these things were ones I really wanted to do and were at the TOP of my list...I was realistically hoping to get MAYBE two done, but, here are all four...woohoo!!
This layout was for Angel's DT Application challenge and Sassy Scrappers. It was to use a single photo and handwrite journaling to tell a story about that photo.

Journaling reads: April 7th, 2008. This is your newest favorite saying. You will just come up to me and say it right out of the blue. And I love it! You are my best friend too, little man. I love spending time with you, you are such a sweetheart, and so loving. You love to have your photo taken but you love even more when I take a photo of both of us. Sometimes you climb up on my chair, behind me, squish your cheek up to mine and say "cheese". Whether there is even a camera in sight or not. And of course I always find the camera and snap some photos for you. How could I resist? Besides, those photos are some of my all-time favorites. I will cherish them forever. Those photos of us, best friends. I love you monkey!
This one was done using a sketch at PageMaps for Tammy's DT Application challenge at Sassy Scrappers. Her challenge was to use office supplies, this was fun!!
This is a Prima flowers box that I altered into a goodie box for the latest challenge at {some} assembly required. I just happened to bake some cookies yesterday so in they went!! And, last but not least, this card was done for the latest challenge at Caardvarks...Flight of Fancy!

Who's Getting Married???

NOT ME!! LOL! But, I did make this wedding album and layout yesterday. Not sure what I will do with them yet, but they were fun!

This clear album is the first I have done. And I made the album myself! My mom bought a poster frame for a Cars poster I wanted to hang in Austin's room. As I was putting the poster in it I had this thought...so I went and bought another one! I brught it home, got out my utility knife, and cut 'er up! I had some issues, but I managed to get two 5-page albums out of the one $10 frame! Here is what I did with the first one...

The whole album, closed:

The Front Cover:
Page One:
Pages Two and Three:

Pages Four and Five:

Pages Six and Seven:

The Back Cover:

I wanted to use up some of the leftover bits I had, especially the paper cause I think it is just beautiful! So, I made this layout...

As promised...

Here is some of the stuff I have been working on the last couple weeks.

First of all, this layout I just did last night using a sketch at Sketchabilities. She is looking for a DT and all ya have to do it create a layout with the first sketch and post it to apply! I love this funky sketch, I had so much fun with it last night!!

And here are some other creations from the last couple weeks...

Friends: This was done with one of the Exclusive sketches we received from Becky Fleck of PageMaps for the Sassy Scrappers crop! I LOVE this sketch! Photos are of Stevie and her friend Nicole.

"Two": This one was done for one of our Grand Opening challenges...this challenge is sponsored by CupCake Scrapshop...be sure to check them out! Photos are from Austin's second birthday party...I can't believe it is just over a month until he is 3!!!

Cards: These two cards were done with the two exclusive card sketches we received from Lucy Chesna at My Sketch World! Some more awesome sketches!! We are so lucky!

Soup's On!: This one I did as a sample for my own challenge...to journal ON your photo. Based on a sketch by Chris Greiser at Sketch Me If You Can! Digital Kits used: Cinammon Sweetness by RCMama Designs; Kathy Brandt's contribution to the March "MotherEarth" Mega Kit at ScrapKitChallenge.com

And there will be more to come! We have got some awesome challenges happening already at our Grand Opening, it is just amazing! I don't know where to start, but I better start somewhere if I want to get anything done!!

C*R*A*Z*Y!!

What a week (or longer, I can't remember, lol) I have had!! Easter last weekend, getting ready for the big Celebration at Sassy Scrappers and reading through DT Submissions! I need a day off!!

But...it's all good! We are ready and raring to go with the Grand Opening and I hope to see EVERYONE there having a great time with us! Tons of challenges to choose from, some great games, loads of prizes, and endless chatting with your scrappy sisters ALL MONTH LONG!!!

The best thing about getting ready for a crop from the 'other side' I have found, is how much scrapping I get done! LOL!! Gotta have samples for challenges right?? Of course I can't share them just yet, but I'll be sure to get them posted soon as I can...though you should all have seen them already at the crop ;)

We had a great Easter weekend. We went to the Forest Museum on Sunday morning with my mom and some friends, and did the big candy hunt...basically leftover Halloween candy, but Austin had fun, lol!! Then we went to my mom's for the rest of the weekend and hung out there with her. We also had an early Easter at my mom's the weekend before, while my dad was home...colored eggs, did an egg hunt in the yard, it was fun!! Got some great photos too!!
These ones are from my parents' place:

Here's some from Easter Sunday:

And...on the topic of crazy...how about snow at the end of March...these are from yesterday!

Brothers...

I did this layout last night using the latest sketch at Pencillines. I also did it for a trmming challenge at Serendipity to use paper trims and pleat, crumple, or fold them. It was fun...frustrating, lol, but fun!! I put my new Big Bite to good use on this one! LOL!!

The photo is one that Brian's dad emailed me a little while ago. It is (left to right) Brian and his brothers Donnie and Mike.

Finally some progress! And some Spring!

Well, I sent off a letter to the people who run my apartment on Monday. Today one of them was at the door...the owners of the apartment upstairs are apparently going to be here on the weekend to do repairs. A carpet cleaner is coming on Monday afternoon to clean the part of the carpet that got soaked. And I am to make a list of all my damaged property and give it to them. Finally! Man I should have sent that letter sooner! There is also someone coming to fix my dripping tap...yay!! It has been driving me nuts forever! Now I just to drag all my stuff out of the room and find somewhere to put it before Monday! That is going to be a chore and a half!

I also finally have an appointment with a Disability worker next week to go in for my inteview and hopefully find out whether I get on or not. And where I go from there as far as getting my orthotics. Our family support worker called this morning and is going to pick us up that morning and take us to the appointment :)

I called a few places yesterday, trying to get out of this apartment altogether! Two of them didn't pan out...too small and they only wanted one person in them. But, the other sounds good, I just hope the guy calls back to let me see it! It is still only 1 bedroom, but that is all we can afford. But, it has a yard, the guy said they have a dog in there right now, so I could bring Socks there with me! And, it is about $30 more than what I will be paying here, but part of the utilities are included! So, got my fingers crossed for now!

I also found an ad in the paper for a desk job that I would have no problem doing...just don't know where it is! I hate that! Anyways, gotta get my resume together and see if my mom will fax it over for me. It's worth a shot, as long as it doesn't screw up any chance I have at getting my orthotics!

And Spring is in the air!! We actually went out to the park for an hour or so yesterday and had a good time. It started to get a little chilly when the sun moved behind a cloud and the wind picked up. But it was fun, Austin had a blast and I got some cute photos!

And some work to share...

My landlord...

...must be smokin' some good stuff!!! Ijust walked out the door to go to the store and pick up some milk for Austin, and there is a noticed taped to my door. I'm thinking what did I do??? But, it is a rental increase notice...going up another $21 starting in June. First off, I am already over the max that I get from the ministry by $2...so this extra $21 is going to be coming out of my pocket...off my support check. Second, they should be paying ME to keep livin here after all the crap I have, and still am having to deal with. Third...they should just frickin bite me! That's all there is to say about it really, just bite me! If I am going to bepaying now $600 a month I am going to be paying it somewhere decent...somewhere I might actually get a room of my own, and maybe some amenities included! I have been looking for a year, and keep thinking $600 will be too much for me to afford, but if I am going to be forced to pay that much here I might as well just take the leap and get moved! It never ends, it really doesn't!!

Feeing better today, took a couple more iron supplements this morning, and actually managed to get my house cleaned up! Hoping I can get some scrapping done tonight now that the disaster zone around me is not bothering me so much!

I did get one layout done last night, that I might as well share. I did it for my own challenge at Sassy Scrappers to use at least 5 tags, and combined it with one at Scrap City to use 5 patterned papers and no cardstock.

Where did the day go?

I slept it away, that's where! I seriously spent most of the day sleeping on the couch today...my iron count took a dive today and threw me for a serious loop! Dosing up on iron supplements, tylenol, coffee, and some food right now...I gotta wake up and SCRAP!!

We've got tons of fun challenges happening at Sassy Scrappers right now...make sure you come on over and join us...lots of great prizes and RAKs up for grabs too!!

Yesterday was a good day though! I got a call from our family support person. I had actually forgotten all about her, it had been a while since she had called, so when I ran into her on Wednesday it took me a minute to realize who she was when she started talking to me! LOL! Anyways, she called yesterday to check in with us and see how things we going. I told her we still hadn't found a place, but that things were movin along with the ministry as far as getting my orthotics. I took my application for disability in on Monday and they said I would get a call for an appointment with whoever does the intake inteviews. I told her I was worried about the appointment though because I don't know which workers do them and I have had major problems with one of the disability workers in the past...even though I am not even on disability and therefore shouldn't even have to deal with her! So, te family support person got almost excited andtold me those are exactly the things she is here to help with. She gave me some dates and times she is available so I can set up the appointment and she can come with me as an advocate! And make sure I don't get pushed around!! She will even come pick up Austin and I, take us to the appointment and bring us home! I am soooooo glad! She had told me if I had no one else to come she could come check out apartments/houses with me, but I never even though about calling her for this appointment, so glad she called when she did!!

We went to town for a while yesterday too, got some acrylic stuff to do a crop class over at Scrap City. It was a neat prject, I got mine done last night. I also got an explosion box done that my mom had ordered from me for a friend of hers. Trying to get my energy levels up so I can get some more scrappin done tonight.

Here are the projects from yesterday
